Technical description:
The variometer is based on the aneroid principle, but instead of a conventional lever and gear segment, it uses a twisted metal band to transmit diaphragm motion.
This system converts linear motion directly into rotary pointer movement without friction, resulting in very high sensitivity.
The time constant is approx. 1.3 seconds (reset time ~6 seconds), performance typically found only in electrical variometers.
